Audit at Gullfaks C

From 15 to 17 March 2016, the PSA carried out an audit of Statoil Petroleum AS (Statoil)'s management of materials handling and scaffolding as well as maintenance of lifting equipment and scaffolding at Gullfaks C.


The objective of the audit was to assess management's administration and supervision of materials handling and scaffolding as well as maintenance of lifting equipment and scaffolding on board Gullfaks C.

Result
Two non-conformities were identified in connection with:

  • Wire rope for lift – Offshore crane
  • Proficiency certification

In addition, three improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • Offshore cranes
  • Wireline – crane
  • Lifting gear

Statoil has been given a deadline of 9 May 2016 to report on how the non-conformities and improvement points will be dealt with.

Non-conformity:
Entails that a condition is assessed as not complying with a regulatory requirement.

Improvement point:
Entails that we have identified a deficiency or weakness, without there being sufficient grounds for determining a breach of regulatory requirements.
