Audit – Ocean Vanguard

During the periods 8 June 2012 and 13 – 15 June 2012, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit activity of Diamond Offshore Netherlands B.V. (Diamond Offshore) within the material handling and lifting equipment disciplines, as well as safe use of lifting equipment on Ocean Vanguard.

The objective of the audit was to verify compliance with regulatory requirements and the assumptions for AoC decisions within the logistics discipline.

Nonconformities were identified in relation to:

  • management system for safe use of lifting equipment
  • competent operations
  • offshore cranes
  • portable lifting equipment
  • pipe handling crane
  • personnel winch
  • training in emergency operation of lifting appliances
  • lifting operation with offshore crane

Furthermore, one improvement item was identified in relation to the messenger line for the MOB boat.
