Audit of BP – Valhall

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has carried out an audit of process safety and technical safety at Valhall.

The purpose of the audit was to assess how BP is ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, recognised standards, and the company's own requirements for the operation and maintenance of Valhall. 

Non-conformities were identified in connection with:

  • Barrier management system
  • Evacuation routes

In addition, improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • The emergency shutdown system
  • Passive fire protection
  • Fire water triggering
  • The maintenance system
  • Safety systems

Entails that a condition is assessed as not complying with a regulatory requirement.

Improvement point:
Entails that we have identified a deficiency or weakness, without there being sufficient grounds for determining a breach of regulatory requirements.
