Audit of Conoco Phillips Skandinavia AS – Ekofisk

From 9-13 December 2013, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of the Conoco Phillips Skandinavia AS (COPSAS) facilities 2/4 C-X and J at the Ekofisk complex.

The objective of the audit was to assess the company's management of technical, operational and administrative aspects of materials handling, and use and maintenance of lifting equipment at the Ekofisk complex, and measure this against the company's own and the authorities' requirements.

Non-conformities were identified in connection with:

  • crane forerunners
  • truck charging station
  • trucks and supplementary equipment
  • user manuals and use of lifting gear
  • training
  • access to winches
  • maintenance of lifting equipment
  • elastic MOB boat forerunners
  • offshore cranes
  • personnel under suspended loads

In addition, improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • governing documents
  • central stores for lifting equipment at Ekofisk X
  • communications/information
  • quality assurance of competent enterprise (lifting proficiency certification)
  • load capacity chart
  • hose reels
  • outstanding maintenance
