Audit of design engineering of Maria

The PSA has carried out an audit of Wintershall's management of the design engineering work for the Maria development.

Wintershall Norge AS is the operator of the Maria field, which is an oil and gas field on the Halten Terrace in the Norwegian Sea, around 45 km south of Heidrun.

The field will be developed using a subsea solution and tied back to the production facilities for Kristin, Heidrun and Åsgard B. Maria is Wintershall's first field development on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

On 19 November 2015, the PSA carried out an audit of how Wintershall will fulfil both the regulatory and the company's own requirements in the design engineering of the seabed facilities and pipeline systems for the Maria field.

The audit identified no non-conformities or improvement points in the project execution.

Non-conformity:
Entails that a condition is assessed as not complying with a regulatory requirement.

Improvement point:
Entails that we have identified a deficiency or weakness, without there being sufficient grounds for determining a breach of regulatory requirements.
