Audit of logistics on Maersk Reacher

During week 22, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of logistics on the Maersk Reacher drilling facility.

Background
Maersk Drilling AS has applied to the PSA for an AoC for Maersk Reacher. Maersk Reacher is a jack-up drilling facility. The facility was built at the Keppel Fels Ltd yard in Singapore in 2009 and the facility has been in operation on the Danish continental shelf as a hotel facility. The facility will now be upgraded for drilling on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Objective
The objective of the audit activity was to verify that the company’s management systems and technical conditions on the facility were established and maintained in accordance with the regulatory requirements. The company’s own compliance measurements were used as a basis during the audit.

Results
Nonconformities and improvement items in relation to the regulations were identified during the logistics audit. These factors were mainly associated with the management system and facilitation for safe use of the offshore cranes.
