We are seeing an increase in the number of subsea facilities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, and many of the new field developments in the years ahead will involve extensive use of subsea equipment. At the same time, there are many existing facilities nearing the end of their design lives and which have plans to extend their lifespans.
The objective of this audit was to see how four main suppliers of subsea facilities monitor their equipment through the different phases of its life. We wanted to be made aware of the present status and of the development of new technology in this area. The activity also covered how the main suppliers follow up their subcontractors.
We carried out audits of the following main suppliers of subsea facilities: TechnipFMC, Aker Solutions, OneSubsea and Baker Hughes (GE).
They took place in the form of meetings and reviews of the facilities.
The results are summarised as reviews of the topics covered by the audits.
