Audit of Martin Linge development project

On 26 March 2015, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway carried out an audit of Total E&P Norge AS (Total) and the development project for the Martin Linge storage vessel.

Total E&P Norge AS is the operator on the Martin Linge field, which is in the northern North Sea, around 42 km west of Oseberg.

The development project for Martin Linge comprises the conversion of the Hanne Knutsen tanker for use as a storage vessel on the field. Knutsen has a contract with Total for the lease of an FSO unit for the Martin Linge field and the tanker is being modified for this purpose.

The field will be developed using an integrated fixed production facility and a mobile facility for storage and transport. Production on the field is scheduled to start in 2016. The facility is being designed by the French company, Technip.
