The objective of the audit was to verify that the interaction between operational, organisational and technical barrier elements was being catered for in a coherent and consistent manner, so as to achieve the greatest possible risk reduction. This entails awareness of which barriers have been established and their intended function, as well as the performance requirements defined for the specific operational, organisational or technical barrier elements necessary for ensuring their individual effectiveness.
One non-conformity was identified in connection with barrier functions and use of MOB suits.
In addition, three improvement points were identified in connection with training of the emergency response organisation, the maintenance programme, and training and drills.
Songa Offshore has been given a deadline of 11 November 2016 to report on how the non-conformity and improvement points will be dealt with.
