Audit of Songa Offshore – Songa Dee

From 9 to 13 November 2015, the PSA carried out an audit of electrical plant and the roles, responsibilities and duties of the personnel responsible for this on the Songa Dee mobile drilling facility.

The objective of the audit was to verify that regulatory provisions are being complied with, with special emphasis of the parts of the company's management system that comprise the roles, responsibilities and duties of the personnel responsible for electrical plant during its design engineering, operation, modification and maintenance. Testing and maintenance of barriers, so as to ensure the barriers' functionality throughout the lifetime of the facility, were an important aspect of the verifications performed on board.

Songa Dee is a semi-submersible drilling facility constructed in 1984. The facility is operated by Songa Offshore (Songa). The facility received Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in 2009.
