Audit of Statoil – Heidrun TLP

Between May 2012 and November 2013, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) performed an audit of Statoil and the selected well service contractor's planning and implementation of coiled tubing drilling at Heidrun TLP.

The objective of the audit was to verify that Statoil, and the well contractor and other contractors concerned, were planning and performing coiled tubing drilling on the Heidrun field in accordance with their own requirements, regulatory provisions and defined standards.

Non-conformities were identified in connection with:

  • performance of risk analyses
  • knowledge of procedures
  • firefighting in the coiled tubing installation
  • lifting operations

In addition, improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • OHAS in the coiled tubing installation
  • suspension of cables
