Audit of Statoil – Oseberg C

On 12 and 17-19 February 2015, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of the management of the working environment at Oseberg C.

Oseberg C was installed in the northern sector of the Oseberg field in 1990 and began production in December 1991. The design life of Oseberg C is 25 years. Statoil has applied for consent to extend operation of Oseberg C until 1 March 2031.

The objective of the audit was to monitor Statoil's surveying of working environment challenges and its implementation of OHAS measures in connection with the application for service-life extension.

Two non-conformities were identified relating to:

  • Decision support for measures in the working environment domain
  • Register of employees exposed to chemicals

An improvement point was identified connected with the use of the Norwegian language.
