Audit of Statoil – Sleipner

From 30 October to 1 November 2013, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway performed an audit of HME management of scaffolders at Sleipner A, both during operations and in the Gudrun tie-in project.

The objective of the audit was to assess how, for Sleipner operations and within the Gudrun tie-in project, Statoil was securing the planning and safe execution of scaffolding work, through individual and overall assessments of factors significant for the activities.

Non-conformities were identified in connection with:

  • Working environment
  • Materials handling
  • Scaffolding materials
  • Own control of material and equipment

In addition, improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • The safety service
  • Governing documents
  • Framework conditions
