Audit of Stena Drilling - Stena Don

On 23 June 2015, the PSA carried out an audit of the planning of the midlife upgrade and Special Periodic Survey (SPS) of Stena Don.

This is the first of two audits of Stena Don.

One objective of the audit was to ensure that Stena had suitable management systems in place for performing regular mapping of the working environment on Stena Don. Another was to ensure Stena had performed necessary mapping activities in order to obtain an up-to-date status of the working environment on the facility.

Result
One non-conformity was identified in connection with:

  • Requirements for individual working environment conditions

Improvement points related to:

  • Working environment competency requirements
  • Organisation of joint on-site working environment committee (FSAMU)
  • Chemical management
  • Working environment data

Stena Drilling has been given a deadline of 1 September 2015 to report on how the non-conformity and improvement points will be dealt with.

Non-conformity:
Entails that a condition is assessed as not complying with a regulatory requirement.

Improvement point:
Entails that we have identified a deficiency or weakness, without there being sufficient grounds for determining a breach of regulatory requirements.
