Audit of technical working environment – Yme

On 27 September 2010, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) conducted an audit of the technical working environment on Talisman’s production facility at the Bergen Group Rosenberg yard in Stavanger.

The audit was a verification of previous audits (23 - 26 March 2009 and 31 May – 3 June 2010) at the Adyard Liva yard in Abu Dhabi.

Background
SBM (Single Buoy Mooring) has engineered and is responsible for fabrication of the mobile drilling and production facility Yme MOPUStor (Mobile Offshore Production Unit) which, according to plan, will be put into use on the Yme field, where Talisman Energy Norge AS is the operator.

Talisman has applied for consent to use the facility.

Purpose
The objective of the audit activity was to verify that TENAS is building the Yme facility in accordance with the regulatory requirements regarding working environment in the petroleum industry. In this connection, the audit targeted e.g. verification of observations described in audit reports from the two previously mentioned audits within this technical area.

Result
Nonconformities were identified within access of equipment and updated technical solutions. One improvement item was also identified within documentation of compliance with working environment requirements.
