Audit of the Gudrun facility

During the periods 14 May and 13-15 June 2012, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA), carried out an audit of Statoil’s facilitation of working environment and material handling in the design and construction of the Gudrun facility.


Objective
The objective of the audit activity was to follow up how Statoil ensures requirements for facilitation of working environment and material handling factors are established, implemented and followed up in the project.

Results
Nonconformities were identified in relation to:

  • Staffing and expertise
  • Follow-up and activity management at the construction site
  • Access for operation and maintenance of equipment
  • Working environment analyses

Furthermore, improvement items were identified in relation to:

  • Offshore crane maintenance
  • Experience transfer
  • Lifting operations
  • Material handling of wet gas compact cooler
