Audit of the Ivar Aasen development project

On 7 March 2016 and 5-7 April 2016, the PSA carried out an audit of the work of Det norske oljeselskap ASA (Det norske) to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements for barrier management in the Ivar Aasen development project.

The objective of the audit was to monitor that Det norske, in cooperation with the development project's stakeholders, was complying with the preconditions in the PDO, applicable regulations, standards and the company's own requirements.

No non-conformities were identified during the audit.

Four improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • Performance requirements for barrier functions and elements
  • Class H firewall conduit penetrations
  • Cooling water system and control panel for the back-up diesel generator
  • Automatic fuses – status indication and locking device

Det norske has been given a deadline of 20 June 2016 to report on how the improvement points will be dealt with.

Entails that a condition is assessed as not complying with a regulatory requirement.

Improvement point:
Entails that we have identified a deficiency or weakness, without there being sufficient grounds for determining a breach of regulatory requirements.
