Audit of Total E&P Norge – Maersk Gallant

From 18 to 20 May 2016, the PSA carried out an audit of Total E&P Norge (Total) in connection with pressure-balanced drilling using Maersk Gallant.


The objective of the audit was to verify the companies' safeguarding of governing documents, operational management and technical solutions ensuing from the use of pressure-balanced drilling equipment and new solutions for well control and blowout prevention.

Result
No non-conformities were identified.

Improvement points were identified in connection with:

  •  Competence
  • The maintenance system
  • Technical conditions

Total has been given a deadline of 1 August 2016 to report on how the improvement points will be dealt with. 

Non-conformity:
Entails that a condition is assessed as not complying with a regulatory requirement.

Improvement point:
Entails that we have identified a deficiency or weakness, without there being sufficient grounds for determining a breach of regulatory requirements.
