Audit of Wintershall - Electrical installations and personnel responsible for electrical installations at Brage

From 13 to 22 April 2016, the PSA carried out an audit of Wintershall Norge ASA (Wintershall)'s work on ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements for electrical installations.

The objective of the audit was to inspect how the company is complying with the regulations relating to working in and operating electrical installations. The audit gave special emphasis to how Wintershall works with electrical installations and those parts of the company's management system that comprise the roles, responsibilities and duties of the personnel responsible for electrical plant during its design engineering, operation, modification and maintenance.

Five non-conformities were identified in connection with:

  • Work in and operation of electrical installations
  • The electrical installations - technical conditions
  • Electro-technical system analyses
  • Mergency lighting
  • Maintenance management

In addition, improvement points were identified in connection with:

  • Temporary equipment
  • Heating cable installations
  • Non-conformity handling

Wintershall has been given a deadline of 22 June 2016 to report on how the non-conformities and improvement points will be dealt with.

Entails that a condition is assessed as not complying with a regulatory requirement.

Improvement point:
Entails that we have identified a deficiency or weakness, without there being sufficient grounds for determining a breach of regulatory requirements.
