Audit of Yme –handling of materials

On 27 September 2010, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) conducted an audit of materials handling facilitation on board the Yme production facility while it was undergoing commissioning at the Bergen Group Rosenberg yard in Stavanger.

The audit was a follow-up of two previous audits at the construction site in Abu Dhabi, as well as part of the process in connection with Talisman’s application for consent to use Yme as a production facility on the Norwegian shelf.

The objective of the audit was to verify how the company has handled and, if applicable, implemented measures related to nonconformities and improvement items identified in previous audits, as well as how the company has prepared for operations.

The audit targeted Talisman’s operations organisation. Operations procedures in accordance with Norsok Standard Appendix C had not been completed, and were therefore not implemented. Several of the technical observations commented on in previous reports had not yet been resolved.

Two nonconformities were identified linked to facility-specific procedures, lack of user documentation and certificates.
