Major accident audit and audit of HSE performance and risk management at Slagentangen

On 8 - 9 May 2012, the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) conducted two audits on Slagentangen: major accident audit and HSE performance and risk management.


Background
The audits were related to the PSA's main priority - management and major accident risk - where the PSA shall be a driving force for the industry in preventing major accidents and harm to the external environment.
 

Purpose
The purpose of the audit was to verify compliance with applicable regulations on conditions that impact the risk of major accidents:

  • The company's management and risk assessments of changes
  • System for systematic monitoring and management system
  • Structure of inspections and maintenance, with plans and lessons learned
  • Strategies and principles for HSE performance and risk management
     

The result
No nonconformities were identified in relation to the regulations or improvement items during the audit.
