In the second half of 2016, we carried out an audit of major accident and working environment risk in the interface between Statoil and maintenance and modification (M&M) contractors and, insulation, scaffolding and surface (ISS) contractors.
The activities comprised a series of meetings, with an introductory meeting with Statoil on their contract strategy, and meetings with the M&M/ISS contractors awarded contracts during the year.
The summary report from the meetings illuminates possible correlations between altered framework conditions and HSE that were discussed in the various meetings.
This type of audit does not provide a sufficient basis for identifying non-conformities or improvement points. Some of the challenges discussed may be serious. This applies in particular to matters concerning competence, planning and risk assessment. We will therefore be following up the meeting series with verifications out on the facilities in 2017.
