Consent for use of Troll O2

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has given Statoil Petroleum AS (Statoil) consent to use the Troll O2 facility with pipelines.

Troll O2 is a new subsea template which will be connected to the Troll C facility.

The subsea template is located approx. six kilometres north of Troll C and is the 16th subsea template connected to Troll C and the 30th in total on Troll Vest.

The tie-in to Troll C is done by connecting the pipeline and umbilical to the existing subsea template on Troll O1 and using the existing production pipeline from Troll O1 to route the oil to Troll C.

Water depth at the site varies between 330 and 350 metres.

There has not been a need to change the existing production equipment on Troll C to handle the oil from Troll O2.

The facilities were installed and commissioned on the seabed in 2009. According to Statoil's application, start-up is planned for 20 July 2010.
