Consent to begin construction work at Kalstø

The PSA has given Gassco AS (Gassco) consent to begin construction work for the Kalstø pipeline landfall facility.

The consent covers work relating to the Kalstø robustness project (Karp), and consists of a complete upgrade of the electrical and automation system for the Kalstø facility, a bypass of Statpipe pigging facilities and installation of a new emergency shutdown valve arrangement.

Kalstø is on the west side of the island of Karmøy in the county of Rogaland, and is a technical facility for the landfall of four gas pipelines (Statpipe (2), Sleipner and Åsgard). After landfall at Kalstø, the gas is transported on by pipeline to the gas processing plant at Kårstø.
