Consent to carry out drilling with Borgland Dolphin

Statoil has received consent to use the mobile Borgland Dolphin facility on Oseberg Sør.


The consent relates to drilling and completion of a production well in production licence 104.

The planned position is:

  • N 60° 21’ 16.138”
  • E 02° 54’ 0.704”

Water depth at the site is 102 metres.

The planned drilling start-up date is 27 October 2012 and the duration will be approx. 125 days.

Borgland Dolphin is a semi-submersible drilling facility, type Aker H-3.
It was built at Harland & Wolff in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1977 and underwent extensive upgrades in 1999.
The facility is owned by Borgland Dolphin Pte Ltd and operated by Dolphin Drilling A/S.
