Consent to conduct exploration drilling with Mærsk Guardian – well 2/2-6

Consent: Talisman Energy Norway AS (TENAS) has been granted consent to conduct exploration drilling in the southern North Sea with the mobile facility Mærsk Guardian.

The consent applies to drilling of exploration well 2/2-6 which belongs to production licence 332. The well is located approx. 21 kilometres east of the Gyda facility. The distance to the coast (Egersund) is approx. 270 kilometres (see map).

Location of the well

The well has the following geographical coordinates:

N 56° 48' 17.516",  E 3° 26' 07.492". The water depth at the site is approx. 64 metres.

Estimated time for spudding is March 2010, and the planned duration of the activity is approx. 70 days.

Mærsk Guardian is a jack-up drilling facility built in 1986. It is operated by Maersk Drilling Norge AS.
