Consent to conduct minor modifications at Kårstø

Statoil has been granted consent to implement rehabilitation and minor modifications of the port building at Kårstø.

The consent applies to rehabilitation/upgrading of the port building at the Kårstø Terminal. The work also includes upgrading and review of fire divisions, renovation of locker rooms and minor internal reconstruction work.

The gas processing facility at Kårstø has been in operation since 1985. The port building was constructed as part of the first building stage at Kårstø in 1984/1985.

The activities at Kårstø comprise processing of rich gas from the Tampen area, condensate from the Sleipner area and rich gas from Haltenbanken.

From Kårstø, the gas is exported to the Continent in pipelines, while stabilised condensate, ethane, propane, butane and naphtha are transported by ship.

Gassco is the operator for the Kårstø facility, with Statoil as the technical service provider.
