The consent includes diving operations down to 180 metres and applies to defined and undefined operations and project tasks, as well as repair preparedness.
MUO will be performed under the ”Diving, Pipeline Repair, Contingency and Modification Services” contract between Statoil and Technip Norway AS.
Under the ”Joint operating agreement for subsea services” with Statoil, Gassco will also be a user of this the contract.
The Companies will use DSV Wellservicer (Diving Support Vessel) and work boat LDC Technip Sea Hunter in order to carry out MUO.
DSV Scandi Arctic (photo) is under construction/equipping by Technip, which plans to start using the vessel for the Companies' manned underwater operations in the course of the first half of 2010.
We have asked the Companies to submit more information regarding the activities referred to in the application for consent, subsection 2.1.5 relating to defined operations and project tasks, subsection 2.3 regarding undefined operations and project tasks and subsection 2.4 relating to repair preparedness to the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway well in advance of start-up.
