Consent to start exploration drilling by preinstalling conductor casing and wellhead protection structure on well 6305/9-2

Det Norske Oljeselskap ASA (Det norske) has received consent to use Iceland Enforcer to install CANs, conductor casing and wellhead protection structure on well 6305/9-2.

Det norske will drill exploration well 6305/9-2 with Aker Barents, a semi-submersible mobile drilling facility. The plan is to start drilling in November 2010.

The well is part of production license 468, and is located about 115 nautical miles north of Kristiansund and about 20 nautical miles southeast of the Heidrun field.

Before drilling starts, Det norske plans to install CANs (Casing Anchor Node), conductor casing and wellhead protection structure at the drilling location.

Iceland Enforcer (pictured), which is planned used in the activity, is owned and operated by Iceland Offshore Management AS.

From a risk-based approach, we accept such a simplified solution for this limited activity. We assume that the restrictions and compensating measures described in the information received from Det norske are complied with and/or implemented.
