Consent to use living quarters facilities and bridges on Valhall

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has given BP Norge AS (BP) consent to use the mobile living quarters facilities MSV Regalia and Safe Scandinavia on the Valhall field. BP has also received consent to use bridges on the field.


The consent covers use of the living quarters facilities MSV Regalia and Safe Scandinavia as flotels on the Valhall field. The consent applies to the following periods:

  • MSV Regalia from 1 August 2010 to 30 November 2010
  • Safe Scandinavia from 1 November 2010 to 31 March 2011
  • MSV Regalia from 1 March 2011 to 1 August 2011

BP has also received consent to use bridges 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 on the Valhall field as walkways and evacuation routes.

The mobile living quarters facility MSV Regalia is of the GVA 3000 design and was built in 1985 at GVA in Sweden. The facility has 380 beds.

MSV Regalia received the PSA's Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in July 2009.

Safe Scandinavia was built in 1984 at Aker Verdal according to the Aker H-3.2E design. The facility has a maximum of 583 beds.

The facility received the PSA's Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in April 2007.
