Consent to use of Floatel Superior as a flotel for the Goliat field

Eni Norge AS has received consent to use the Floatel Superior mobile accommodation facility as a flotel for the Goliat field.


Floatel Superior was built at the Keppel FELS shipyard in Singapore and completed in March 2010. The facility is operated by Floatel International AB (FIAB) of Gothenburg. It is registered in Bermuda and classified by DNV GL. The facility received Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in December 2010.

Goliat is an oil field located around 50 kilometres south-east of the Snøhvit field in the Barents Sea. Water depth in the area is 360-420 metres. The Goliat field is being developed using a circular FPSO which includes eight subsea templates with a total of 32 well slots. The subsea templates will be tied to the FPSO using an integrated storage and loading system. .
