Consent to use Safe Scandinavia as a flotel at Snorre A

The PSA has given Statoil Petroleum AS (Statoil) consent to use the Safe Scandinavia mobile accommodation facility as a flotel at the Snorre A facility in 2014 and 2015.

The consent covers use of Safe Scandinavia as a flotel in the period 15 April 2014 to 15 April 2015.

Statoil will use Safe Scandinavia in connection with an upgrade to drilling equipment on the Snorre A facility.

The Snorre field is in the Tampen area in the northern section of the North Sea.

Safe Scandinavia was built in 1984 by Aker Verdal to an Aker H-3.2E design. The facility has a maximum of 583 beds. It is operated by Prosafe Offshore Ltd of Aberdeen, Scotland.

The facility was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AOC) by the PSA in April 2007.
