Consent to use Safe Zephyrus at Ivar Aasen

Det norske has received consent to use Safe Zephyrus as a flotel at Ivar Aasen.

Det norske is the operator of the Ivar Aasen field, in the North Sea around 175 kilometres west of Karmøy in Rogaland county.

The field has been developed using a production, drilling and accommodation facility on a steel jacket and a jack-up facility for well drilling and completion. Production at Ivar Aasen is expected to begin in the 4th quarter of 2016.

Det norske has received consent from the PSA for the use of the Safe Zephyrus flotel to accommodate personnel during the completion and start-up phase. The consent applies until 1 February 2017, but will continue to be valid if the start-up period extends beyond schedule. In that case, Det norske is obliged to notify the PSA well in advance.

The Safe Zephyrus flotel is a type GVA 3000E and was supplied by Jurong Shipyard Pte Ltd of Singapore in 2015. The facility has a capacity of 450 persons in individual cabins. It is owned and operated by Prosafe, is registered in Singapore and classified by DNV GL.

Safe Zephyrus received Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) from the PSA on 19 July 2016.
