Consent to use Songa Delta on the Oseberg field

Statoil has received consent to use the Songa Delta mobile drilling facility for drilling and completion on the Oseberg field.

Production on the Oseberg field began in December 1988. Statoil, the field's operator, is now developing the Oseberg Delta 2 field. The development is taking place using two subsea well templates tied back to the Oseberg field centre. Delta 2 is around 7 km west of the Oseberg field centre and 117 km from the nearest land at Fedje in Hordaland county.

Statoil has now received consent to use the Songa Delta mobile drilling facility to drill and complete seven wells from these well templates. Drilling is scheduled to last around 19 months.

Songa Delta is operated by Songa Offshore. The facility was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the PSA in November 2012.
