Consent to use the Mærsk Inspirer for drilling and completion on the Volve field

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted Statoil consent to carry out drilling and completion of wells on the Volve field with the Mærsk Inspirer mobile facility.

The consent relates to drilling, sidetrack drilling, plugging, completion and well interventions.

The plan is to start drilling and associated completion on 1 December 2012.


Mærsk Inspirer (photo) is a mobile facility (jack up), built at Hyundai in 2004. The facility is operated by Maersk Contractors Norge AS.
