Lundin Norway AS receives consent for exploration drilling

Lundin Norway AS (Lundin) has received consent for exploration drilling of well 7220/11-2.

Lundin is the operator for production licence 609 in block 7220/11 in the Barents Sea. Lundin is to drill well 7220/11-2, to investigate the find's potential.

Expected start-up is March 2015 with a duration of approx. 62 days, depending on whether a discovery is made.

The well is to be drilled by the Island Innovator mobile drilling facility. This is a semi-submersible mobile drilling facility of the GM4000-WI type, built in 2012 at Cosco Zhoushan Shipyard in China. The facility is operated by Odfjell Drilling. It is registered in Norway and classified by DNV GL. Island Innovator was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the PSA in August 2013.

The PSA has now granted Lundin consent for exploration drilling.
