Removal of emergency response vessel at the Alvheim field

Aker BP has received consent to remove the emergency response vessel at the Alvheim field.

Aker BP ASA (Aker BP) is the operator of the Alvheim field in the North Sea, close to the boundary with the UK shelf, around 260 kilometres west of Stavanger. Alvheim has been developed using a floating production unit and subsea wells. The Vilje and Volund fields are also tied back to the production unit. The oil from the fields is shipped from Alvheim by tanker and the gas is exported by pipeline to St Fergus in Scotland. Production began in 2008.

Aker BP wants the Alvheim field to be included in the area contingency planning for the Sleipner-Utsira area, and has accordingly applied for consent to remove the Alvheim field's emergency response vessel.

The PSA has granted Aker BP consent for removal as applied for.
