PSA investigates fatal accident on Maersk Interceptor

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has initiated an investigation of an incident where one person died and another suffered serious injuries on Maersk Interceptor on the Tambar field on 7 December 2017.

This mobile unit is currently engaged in well work on the North Sea field, where Aker BP serves as operator.

The aims of the PSA’s investigation include clarifying the course of events and identifying the direct and indirect causes of the incident in order to contribute to learning and experience transfer.

The investigation will result in a report which will be published on ptil.no.
