Consent to carry out exploration drilling - Johan Sverdrup

Lundin Norway as has been granted consent to use the mobile facility Bredford Dolphin for drilling and production testing of the Johan Sverdrup discovery in the North Sea.


The consent applies to drilling and production testing of well 16/3-5, which belongs to production licence 501. 

The facility's planned position is:

  • N 58º 46' 31.59''
  • E 02º 42' 18.59''

Water depth at the site is 111 - 117 metres.



The activity has a planned duration of 21 days, depending on discovery.

 


Bredford Dolphin (pictured) is a third-generation semi-submersible drilling facility of the Aker H-3 type. The facility was completed in 1976.

Bredford Dolphin is owned by Fred Olsen ASA and operated by Fred Olsen's subsidiary Dolphin AS (Dolphin). The company is headquartered in Stavanger.

The facility is registered in Singapore, with DNV as the classification society.

Bredford Dolphin received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) from the PSA in 2007
