New venue – more seats: don't miss the seminar on management and major accident risk – 31 August 2010

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA), in cooperation with the Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF) and the University of Stavanger (UiS), is extending invitations to a seminar on management and major accident risk. Because of the big demand for places, the seminar has been moved to Stavanger Forum. This will provide room for an additional 100 participants.

Investigations of major industrial accidents mainly focus on technical factors and human errors as causes of accidents, and to a lesser extent on organisational deficiencies and weaknesses. At this seminar, international risk and safety researchers will illuminate various aspects of leadership and major accident risk. Key managers in the industry will give their views on the subject.

Program: Leadership and major accident risk seminar

The goal is to provide insight into research and practice regarding management and major accident risk to focus attention on the subject, which concerns leadership and organisational factors. Management and major accident risk is one of the PSA's main priorities for 2010.

There is a need for increasing awareness around these aspects to gain new knowledge that can contribute to promoting learning from incidents in the petroleum activities.
