Audit of compression installation H7

On 22 September 2004, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) conducted an audit of GNSC H7 (German North Sea Compressor Platform). The installation is located on the German continental shelf in the North Sea. Gassco AS is the operator, while ConocoPhillips is responsible for operations. Our general impression after the audit is that H7 is operated in accordance with applicable regulations.

The audit was conducted together with representatives of the German authorities (Landesbergamt) and Germanischer Lloyd. The audit activity targeted technical safety, mechanical systems and structural integrity.

Background for the audit
An agreement (Memorandum of Understanding) between the Norwegian and German authorities governs the two countries' supervision as regards how the installation is operated. The authorities in both countries agree on joint audit activities to be carried out on a regular basis.

Purpose of the audit
The objective of the audit was to verify that the installation is operated in accordance with applicable regulations in the aforementioned areas.

Result of the audit
The general impression of the audit is that H7 is operated in accordance with the applicable regulations. We noticed that the installation was kept tidy and in general good order.
We have asked Gassco to respond to certain non-conformances and observations.
