Audit of electrical disciplines on Transocean Arctic

From 14-15 April 2004, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) conducted a verification of factors linked to management and technical regulatory requirements for electrical disciplines on the Transocean Arctic (photo).

Background for the audit

Transocean has applied for an (AoC) for the mobile drilling rig Transocean Arctic. This audit is part of the AoC process.

Purpose of the audit

The objective was to verify that regulatory requirements and corporate routines within the relevant disciplines are safeguarded as described in the AoC application for the Transocean Arctic. The verification is part of the PSA's consideration of this application.

Result of the audit

The overall impression of the electrical disciplines was basically satisfactory, but there was a definite potential for improvement in the areas of good order and tidiness in rooms containing important electrical equipment.

No new non-conformances in relation to the regulations were observed within these disciplines.
