Audit of electrical disciplines on Transocean Leader

During the period 15-16 April 2004, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) conducted a verification of management-related and technical regulatory requirements linked to the electrical discipline on Transocean Leader (photo).


Background for the audit

Transocean has applied for an (AoC) for the mobile drilling rig Transocean Leader.

The objective was to verify that regulatory requirements and company procedures were safeguarded as described in the AoC application for the Transocean Leader within the relevant technical discipline.

The verification is part of the PSA's consideration of this application.

Purpose of the audit

The purpose of this verification activity was to ensure verification of management-related and technical regulatory requirements linked to the electrical discipline through the AoC process.

Result of the audit

The overall impression of the electrical discipline was largely satisfactory, with a view towards good order and tidiness in rooms containing important electrical equipment.

New non-conformities from the regulatory requirements were observed within the discipline.
