Audit of installation of 2/4M jacket

On 16 June and 22 June 2004, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) conducted an audit of ConocoPhillips Norge's (CoPNo's) analyses in connection with installation of the 2/4-M jacket on Ekofisk. The audit report was sent to CoPNo on 5 July 2004.

The audit was carried out at the offices of CoPNo and London Marine Consultants (LMC).

The audit was implemented in two parts. The first part consisted of presentations and questions, while part two dealt with traceability in documentation.

Background for the audit

CoPNo is to install the 2/4-M jacket with associated gangway supports and gangways on Ekofisk.

Purpose of the audit

The audit was conducted to ensure that CoPNo's evaluations satisfy the regulatory requirements, including the Framework Regulations, the Facilities Regulations and the Activities Regulations.

Result of the audit

Our general impression is that CoPNo meets the requirements in the applicable regulations.

However, the audit did result in some observations of conditions where improvements could be made, specifically as regards anchor lines and dynamic positioning.
