Consent for use of injection facility on Heidrun

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Statoil ASA consent for use of an injection facility for low-sulfate water on Heidrun.

The entire water injection facility is comprised of the following:

  • New pump module for injection of produced water. One pump train had been put into use before.
  • A facility for removal of sulfate from sea water, to obtain water with a low sulfate content for injection into the reservoirs Nedre Tilje, Åre and the North Flank.

The planned start-up date is 1 November 2003.
