Consent for use of MSV Regalia

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted Statoil ASA consent for the use of MSV Regalia (photo) as a flotel on Troll A to accommodate personnel in connection with the Troll Pre-compression Project and planned shutdown 2004.

The purpose of Troll A Pre-compression is to maintain the expected production level after 2005.

A new module is planned for Troll A with two compressors in the first phase, and room for another two compressors to be installed later.

Troll A

Statoil needs a flotel to house necessary personnel during the installation phase from the beginning of July to the beginning of November 2004.

The company has used this facility before, most recently in connection with well intervention activities.

MSV Regalia will be dynamically positioned with a bridge connection to Troll A.

MSV Regalia is operated by Prosafe Offshore Ltd (POL). The facility has been used for subsea installation work, as a support vessel for diving operations and as a flotel.
