Heidrun is located on Haltenbanken. The field has been developed with a concrete floating tension leg platform (Heidrun TLP), and has today 20 subsea wells which all are tied in to Heidrun TLP, where 12 wells are water injectors and eight wells are oil producers.

The installation to be used belongs to Heidrun Nord and consists of a satellite well (D-5 H) which will be installed approximately 100 m northwest of the existing subsea template D, and tied in to the Heidrun installation through existing pipeline structures. The processing facility on Heidrun TLP will be used for processing of the oil.
The new satellite well is expected to be in production up to 2016.
