The well stream from Snøhvit will be processed and cooled down to a liquid form (LNG). The object of the temporary facility is to test the gas turbine generators with associated systems.

The company will, inter alia, test all the gas turbines to adjust the gas supply and verify all safety systems.

The temporary facility is owned and will be operated by personnel from AGA a/s. The facility has been in operation for a total eight years and has supplied gas for testing of generators on Åsgard and Kristin.

LNG will be transported with tank lorries to Melkøya from Tjeldbergodden and Finland. Approx. 25 deliveries of 17 tonnes each will be necessary.
