Consent to carry out major modifications on H-7

Gassco AS has received consent to carry out major modifications on the H-7 compressor facility, which is located on the German continental shelf.

Gassco is the operator of H-7, while ConocoPhillips is the Technical Services Provider (TSP) for the work to install the by-pass. The work will be carried out during a planned shutdown of the Ekofisk field from around 10-24 June 2007.

The H-7 facility was previously used as a compressor facility for the gas pipeline from Ekofisk to Emden in north-west Germany.

New technology is one of the factors which have led to the H-7 no longer being needed to transport the gas.

This is why Gassco now wants to install a by-pass on the seabed around the H-7 facility.
