Consent to conduct exploration drilling with Mærsk Giant

Lundin Norway AS (Lundin) has received consent to drill exploration well 7/4-2 with the mobile facility Mærsk Giant in the North Sea.

Well 7/4-2 is part of production license 148, with Lundin as operator and Talisman Energy and Norwegian Energy Company AS as the other licensees.

The well is located in the North Sea approx. 240 km southwest of Egersund and has the following geographic coordinates:

N 57° 30' 12.9", E 02° 18' 33.0".

Mærsk GiantThe Mærsk Giant (pictured) is a jack-up mobile drilling facility owned and operated by the A.P. Møller-Mærsk Group.

The facility was built in Japan at Hitachi, and completed in 1986. The Mærsk Giant can operate in up to 107 meters of water and can accommodate 87 people.

The facility received an (AoC) in February 2002.

Planned start-up of the drilling activity is 1 October 2007. The activity will have a duration of approx. 60 days.
